Finding a Man Isn’t the Most Important Thing

There is nothing wrong with desiring marriage. Marriage is God’s design, and the desire to share your life with a godly man can be a very real desire of your heart. But as Christian women, finding a man cannot become more important than following Jesus Christ. Before we consider who might be right for us, we need to be firmly rooted in the One who saved us, loves us, leads us, and knows exactly what we need.

Find A Christian Man exists because navigating dating and relationships requires more than attraction, chemistry, and good intentions. It requires wisdom and discernment. A man can say that he loves God, attend church, know Scripture, and still not demonstrate the character and spiritual fruit that should be present in the life of a man who follows Christ. We want to help women learn to look beyond what is said and prayerfully pay attention to what a man’s life consistently reveals.

FACM is also about preparing ourselves. We cannot spend all our time examining whether a man is ready for marriage without allowing God to work in us as well. Our relationship with God, character, emotional and spiritual maturity, communication, boundaries, forgiveness, and willingness to grow all matter. If God leads us into marriage, we want to enter that covenant prepared to love, serve, communicate, forgive, grow, and build a life in which Jesus Christ is Head.

Most importantly, this is a place where we will continually point you back to God. Whether you are dating, waiting, discerning a relationship, preparing for marriage, or realizing that someone isn’t right for you, seek Him first. Marriage is a wonderful blessing, but it was never meant to take the place in our hearts that belongs to God alone.

Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
